The conference, which was attended by scientists and researchers from various higher educational institutions of our republic, was of great importance in terms of discussing the current problems of Azerbaijani linguistics, presenting new scientific approaches and determining the perspective directions of linguistics in the modern era.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the conference, the rector of the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University, Professor Jafar Jafarov, welcomed the participants and emphasized that such scientific conferences play an important role in the development of Azerbaijani linguistics. The rector expressed his confidence that the conference would be productive in terms of scientific exchange of ideas and wished the participants success.
Speaking later, the vice-rector for international relations of the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University, Professor Mahira Huseynova, noted that the Azerbaijani language is one of the main pillars of our national identity. She said that language is not only a means of communication, but also the most important factor that keeps the historical memory, culture and spiritual values of the people alive. The vice-rector noted that such scientific conferences make a significant contribution both to strengthening the national scientific potential and to promoting Azerbaijani linguistics on an international scale.
Professor of the Department of Modern Azerbaijani Language of Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University Ibrahim Bayramov, Head of the Department of Azerbaijani Linguistics Prof. Hajar Huseynova, Professor of the Department of Azerbaijani Linguistics of Baku State University Zemfira Shahbazova, Head of the Department of Humanities of Azerbaijan Technical University Associate Professor Habib Mirzayev, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Azerbaijani Linguistics of Baku State University, Doctor of Philosophy in Philology Ramil Bayramov made reports on current linguistic problems.
After the official opening ceremony, the conference continued its work with section meetings.
