The Republican scientific-practical conference "People know that you are mine..." was held at the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University

The Philology Faculty of Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University organized a Republican scientific-practical conference dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the outstanding poet Samad Vurgun, entitled People Know That You Are Mine…”.

Opening the event with an introductory speech, the rector of Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University, Professor Jafar Jafarov, greeted the participants and spoke about the importance of the conference.

Then, a video clip reflecting the life and work of the great artist was shown.

Professor of the Literature Department Tayyar Salamoglu, academician Mukhtar Imanov, employee of the Nizami Ganjavi Literature Institute of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences Aslan Salmansoy, associate professor of the Azerbaijani Literature Department of Baku State University Mati Osmanoglu, and poet Salim Babullaoglu made speeches and presented reports on the historical stages of development of Samad Vurgun’s poetry, its evolution, as well as unpublished works and the reasons for their emergence.

The founder and head of the Vagif Samadoglu Center, associate professor Nushaba Vakilova, who is a family member of the poet, expressed her gratitude to the leadership of the Philology Faculty of the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University for the high-level organization of the event and shared her memories.

The dean of the Philology Faculty, associate professor Konul Hasanova, speaking, emphasized the scientific and spiritual importance of the conference, noting that the event was not only of an anniversary nature, but also of special importance in terms of re-evaluating the legacy of Samad Vurgun in the context of modern literary thought.

In the artistic part of the event, members of the "Meh" literary association operating under the Philology Faculty of the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University presented scenes from Samad Vurgun's works and recited their poems.

The conference then continued with plenary sessions organized by sections.
